About this directory
Bookish Directory is an index of the technology that surrounds reading: trackers and reading journals, recommendation engines, social reading platforms, ebook and audiobook services, book clubs and libraries, ARC and review platforms, and the tools authors use to reach readers.
It exists because bookish software is scattered. Some of it is enormous and familiar; a lot of it is small, regional or brand new. Both deserve to be findable in the same place.
How listings work
- No sponsored placement and no paid ranking of any kind.
- Default sorting is neutral — alphabetical, not popularity or commercial size.
- Status (active, beta, waitlist and so on) is treated as one attribute among many, not a hierarchy.
- Products can sit in several categories, because most of them genuinely do.
Everything you see is drawn from a single maintained dataset, so category counts and filter options stay in step with the listings themselves.
